Joseph A. Koncilja has been fighting for Pueblo and its people for over 30 years. A Pueblo native, Joe earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Southern Colorado, and acquired his legal education at the University of Denver College of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate in 1979. Joe founded the Koncilja law firm in 1982 and, five years later, joined by his brother Jim, formed Koncilja & Koncilja, P.C. Joe is a frequent lecturer for Colorado Continuing Legal Education, a founding member of the National College of DUI Defense, and a member of the American Bar Association, as well as having the distinct honor of being selected a Fellow of American Bar Foundation. Joe is also a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, the Pueblo Bar Association, and the Colorado Bar Association. For over three decades, Joe and Jim have been investing in Pueblo and working to beautify the city and and improve their hometown's civic life.
James R. Koncilja
James R. Koncilja has been helping his clients and protecting their rights for almost 30 years. A Pueblo native, Jim earned his bachelor's in Business Administration at Regis University in 1982, and acquired his legal education at the University of Denver College of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate in 1986. In 1987, Jim and Joe Koncilja formed Koncilja & Koncilja, P.C. Jim is also a member of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association, and The Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Jim's current practice consists of personal injury law, including automobile accidents, worker's compensation claims, Social Security Disability claims, and premises liability claims. For over three decades, Joe and Jim have been investing in Pueblo and working to beautify the city and and improve their hometown's civic life.
Melissa Esquibel was raised on Pueblo's East side. Upon graduating from Central High School she traveled up I-25, graduating from The Colorado College and the University of Denver College of Law. She has been with Koncilja and Koncilja since graduating from Law school in 1997. Melissa has been a director of the Lower Arkansas Valley Water Conservancy District since its formation by voters in 2002. As a director her aim has been to help keep water in Southeastern Colorado to maintain the viability of agriculture. She is also an appointed member of the Fountain Creek Watershed Flood Control and Greenway District. As an attorney in the offices of Koncilja and Koncilja, Melissa has spent much of her practice in Pueblo and surrounding areas. Ms. Esquibel has developed a genuine fondness for the people of Southeastern Colorado and the unique communities from which they come.
Steve Cornetta is Pueblo native with thirteen years of criminal and civil litigation experience. Mr. Cornetta began his practice with the Law Office of Joe Losavio, where he handled Criminal Defense and Family Law matters. He then joined the Pueblo County District Attorney's office, where he tried over 75 cases in Pueblo's criminal courts. Mr. Cornetta served as lead attorney of the Crimes Against Persons unit, where he tried seven First Degree Murder cases and numerous sexual assault and sexual assault on children cases. He joined Koncilja & Koncilja in 2011, where he handles Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, and Social Security Disability matters. Mr. Cornetta has conducted several civil jury trials, as well as hundreds of hearings in front of the Social Security Administration. He has also coached the Pueblo South High School Mock Trial team.

Tim O'Shea is a fourth-generation Coloradan with a unique and diverse background in business, criminal defense, and civil litigation. Prior to entering the legal profession, Mr. O'Shea spent ten years with Nova Group of Japan in its Tokyo, Boston, and Chicago offices. Beginning his career teaching English as a Second Language in Japan, he became a recruiting manager in Boston, and eventually opened and ran the company's Chicago office. Shifting careers, Mr. O'Shea trained at DePaul University College of Law, where he was a teaching assistant in the Legal Writing Department and a licensed clerk with the offices of the Cook County Public Defender and the Colorado State Public Defender. After graduating he practiced as a solo attorney for three years in Chicago. Mr. O'Shea handled civil matters for plaintiffs and defended citizens charged with criminal offenses, winning trials in both settings. He then joined the Cook County Public Defender's Office, where he tried over 75 cases in Chicago's criminal courts. Mr. O'Shea secured not-guilty verdicts in cases ranging from misdemeanor drug possession to felony domestic battery. He returned home to Colorado to practice with Koncilja & Koncilja, putting his litigation and trial experience to work for clients facing the power and resources of the state and the insurance industry. Mr. O'Shea is dedicated to serving the community, and frequently assists the underserved through Colorado Legal Services. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center.

Karl Kuenhold was raised in the San Luis Valley. A graduate of Alamosa High School in 2000, he attended college at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, CA obtaining his liberal arts degree with an emphasis in international relations. He moved back to Colorado and began working at The National Center for State Courts in Denver, CO as a consultant assisting courts around the country in improving their case handling efficiency. The study of law eventually captivated Mr. Kuenhold and he attended law school at the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2008. He began his law career by returning to Southern Colorado and working at the Office of the District Attorney - 10th Judicial District in Pueblo from 2009-2014. At the DA's Office, he earned the respect of his peers by his willingness to go to trial, being prepared, and attention to case law. By the end of his career at the DA's Office, he had tried nearly 75 cases ranging from DUI's to murder cases to sex assaults. He specializes in Personal Injury, Worker's Compensation, and Criminal Defense.
